本试剂盒主要用于对病菌细菌进行检测，利用玻片和试管凝集方法鉴定志贺氏菌单价血清和多价血清。
志贺氏血清凝集法
志贺氏菌有 K和O抗原而无H抗原。K抗原是自患者新分离的某些菌株的菌体表面抗原，不耐热，加热100℃1小时被破坏。K抗原在血清学分型上无意义，但可阻止O抗原与相应抗血清的凝集反应。根据志贺氏菌抗原构造的不同，可分为四群48个血清型（包括亚型）。
（1)A群:又称痢疾志贺氏菌(Sh.dysenteriae),通称志贺氏痢疾杆菌。不发酵甘露醇。有12个血清型，其中8型又分为三个亚型。
（2）B群：又称福氏志贺氏菌（Sh.flexneri），通称福氏痢疾杆菌。发酵甘露醇。有15个血清型（含亚型及变种），抗原构造复杂，有群抗原和型抗原。根据型抗原的不同，分为6型，又根据群抗原的不同将型分为亚型；X、Y变种没有特异性抗原，仅有不同的群抗原。
（3）C群：又称鲍氏志贺氏菌（Sh.boydii），通称鲍氏痢疾杆菌。发酵甘露醇，有18个血清型，各型间无交叉反应。
（4）D群：又称宋内氏志贺氏菌（Sh.sonnei），通称宋内氏痢疾杆菌。发酵甘露醇，并迟缓发酵乳糖，一般需要3～4天。只有一个血清型。有两个变异相，即Ⅰ相和Ⅱ相；Ⅰ相为S型，Ⅱ相为R型。

Shigella has K and O antigens but no H antigen. The K antigen is a bacterial surface antigen of some strains newly isolated from patients and is not heat-resistant. It is destroyed by heating at 100°C for 1 hour. The K antigen has no significance in serological typing but prevents the agglutination reaction of the O antigen and the corresponding antiserum. According to the difference in the structure of Shigella antigen, it can be divided into four groups of 48 serotypes (including subtypes).
(1) Group A: Also known as Shigella dysenteriae, commonly known as Shigella dysenteriae. Fermented mannitol. There are 12 serotypes, of which type 8 is subdivided into three subtypes.
(2) Group B: Also known as Sh. flexneri, commonly known as Shigella flexneri. Fermented mannitol. There are 15 serotypes (including subtypes and variants), complex antigen structure, group antigens and type antigens. According to the different types of antigens, it is divided into 6 types, and the types are divided into subtypes according to different groups of antigens; X and Y variants do not have specific antigens and only have different group antigens.
(3) Group C: Also known as Sh. boydii, commonly known as the dysentery bacillus. Fermented mannitol, there are 18 serotypes, no cross-reactivity between the types.
(4) Group D: It is also known as Sh.sonnei, commonly known as Shigella dysenteriae. Fermenting mannitol and slowly fermenting lactose generally takes 3 to 4 days. Only one serotype. There are two variant phases, namely phase I and phase II; phase I is S and phase II is R.
