冬季常有温带锋面气旋来袭,因而尽管全年有雨,秋冬降雨量通常略多于春夏。雨以小雨和小阵雨居多,几乎没有雷雨。气旋频繁过境,年降雨量500-700mm,在地形有利地区(如北美洲西北部)多达2500mm以上。最冷月平均气温在0℃以上,最暖月又低于22℃,年较差远小于同纬度的内陆与东岸地区。属于这一气候的有西北欧、加拿大太平洋沿岸、智利南部、澳大利亚东南部、新西兰等小部分。除亚洲、非洲和南极洲没有外,其余各大洲都有,其中以欧洲大陆西部及不列颠群岛最为典型。形成这种气候的主要原因是,本区位于中纬度(40°~60°)大陆西岸,终年盛吹偏西风,风从西面海上吹来,沿岸又有暖流,使西风更加温暖湿润,登陆后受地形抬升,即能大量降水。就西欧来说,沿岸的北大西洋暖流很强大,温度湿度较高,沿岸又特别曲折,地中海、波罗的海等深入内陆,再加上西欧的地势低平,平原和山地皆呈东西走向,故使西风和气旋等可深入内陆,扩大了大西洋影响的范围,使欧洲西部的温带海洋性气候特别典型。1、冬暖夏凉,年温差小
海洋性气候区内愈靠近大洋,气候的海洋性愈强。特别是在冬季,因沿岸有暖流经过,西风从暖流海面吹来,气流温暖潮湿,因此冬季气温比同纬度的大陆中心和大陆东岸暖得多。最冷月均温均在0℃以上。夏季时暖流水温仍较大陆温度低,海上要比陆上凉得多,这里受西风影响最热月均温在22℃以下。由于冬暖夏凉,年温差要比同纬度其它地区小得多。
2、全年有雨,冬雨较多
此区正当温带气旋活动的路径上,气旋雨量丰沛,特别是冬季时温带气旋更为活跃,雨日很多,但降水强度并不大。冬季降水量在全年所占比例稍大,全年没有干季,用一句话概括温带海洋性气候的特点:冬无严寒,夏无酷暑。
3、气温年变化与日变化都很小
在洋面上甚至观测不到日变化。年变化的极值一般比大陆后延1个月,如最冷月为2月,最暖月为8月。在高纬地区最冷月还可能是3月,最暖月也可能到9月。秋季暖于春季。
4、降水量的季节分配比较均匀
降水日数多,但强度小。云雾多,湿度高。

The Mediterranean Sea and the Baltic Sea go deep into the inland. Together with the low-lying plains of Western Europe, the plains and mountains are east-west oriented. The closer the oceanic climate zone is to the ocean, the stronger the oceanic climate is. In winter, especially in winter, warm winds pass along the coast, and the westerly winds come from the warm currents. The air flow is warm and humid. 2, there is rain throughout the year, more winter rain
In this area, the path of extratropical cyclones is rich in cyclone rainfall, especially in winter when the extratropical cyclones are more active and there are many rainy days, but the rainfall intensity is not great. The proportion of winter precipitation in the whole year is slightly larger, there is no dry season in the whole year, and the characteristics of temperate marine climate are summarized in one sentence: winter is not cold, and summer is not very hot.
3. The annual and daily changes in temperature are very small
Even daily changes cannot be observed on the ocean surface. The annual extremes of change are generally one month behind the mainland, such as the coldest month of February and the warmest month of August. The coldest month in high latitudes may also be March, and the warmest month may reach September. Autumn is warm in spring.
4. Seasonal distribution of precipitation is more even
